English Teachers Online Network

ETO center is an online community of English teachers in Ukraine and other CIS countries. ETO was designed as a quality alternative to the traditional Continued Education Classes offered through Institutes of Continued Education in CIS. The program was launched in the summer of 2007 as an onsite seminar in Simferopol, Ukraine, and attracted a number of English teachers from high schools and Universities. Since 2007, the center has offered the following seminars:

• Teaching Integrated English Skills through Media
• Teaching Culture Awareness and Integrated Language Skills Through Broadway Musicals
• Teaching Integrated English Skills Through Popular Novels

In March 2009, the need for an online center became more evident. As the society is transitioning into a new era of technology use, online programs are becoming more popular. There are several reasons why:

Online programs save time Online programs save money for commuting Online programs have a much more flexible schedule Online programs are available to a much wider audience Online programs provide great quality training for English teachers.

The English Teachers Online (ETO) project was first drafted in April 2009. In September 2009 US Embassy in Ukraine approved ETO project for funding. We are excited that YOU are a part of our network today and that together we can strive for excellence in English Teaching!
